driving through the countryside, the weather changed completely and a dreadful thunderstorm 87 her
pull over and stop the car. Suddenly, lightning struck some trees just in front of the car and they burst into
flames. Panicking, she tried to start the car in 88 to move away from the flames 89 were
reaching out towards her, but the engine wouldn’t start. Then she tried to open the doors, but they seemed
to 90 locked themselves. Helen took a deep breath and tried to calm down. She knew 91
would be a simple solution. She tried pushing all the doors hard and suddenly 92 of them opened. It
was 93 locked, it was just stuck. She climbed out of the car and walked away from it 94 she
could see the burning trees. She looked at 95 carefully and decided they were not going to reach her
car, but she was aware 96 how lucky she had been. As soon as she was 97 longer shaking,
she decided to continue on her journey. 98 she finally arrived at the volunteer centre an hour later,
she told everyone what had happened. They all agreed that she had 99 extremely lucky. Later that
night Helen began thinking how her experience was almost the 100 as the lives of the dolphins she
studies – both affected by luck and the forces of nature.
