Course Prerequisites
RTVB 2430 OR concurrent enrollment in RTVB 2430
Course Description
An introduction to television graphics utilizing Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop and Adobe After Effects.
Theory topics include Layout, typography, color theory, motion theory, and visual hierarchy. Software
topics include basic Photoshop, Illustrator, and After Effects operation, blending modes, effects,
keyframing, pre-composing, 2D and 3D animation, track mattes, particles, and render/output of content.
(2 Lec., 4 Lab.)

This class includes optional live interactive instruction delivered online through eCampus Blackboard

Description of Graded Work


Each week students will be required to work on a project or assignment using some combination of
Photoshop, Illustrator, and After Effects. The work will be submitted to a weekly discussion. Students are
required to post at least three times per discussion, including a work submission and self-critique and two
peer critiques. Discussions are graded as 50% projects/assignments and 50% peer critiques.
Spelling, grammar, and punctuation errors are -1 point each.
