Professional Educator Venn Diagram

I used the Venn Diagram with three circles to represent the three critical
elements of becoming a Professional Educator. I realized in the reading that these
elements are connected to forming one Professional Educator. The boundaries of
these elements react and relate to one another. I think presenting it this way is
very informative and easy to digest.

Just looking at the diagram you can see how demanding teaching can be. It
is a complex profession in which you need to understand yourself, your strengths
and weaknesses in the classroom, you need to broaden your knowledge and
always strive to learn more and lastly you need to be a better human being in
order to teach and understand your students and fellow educators.

“Love your students” I live by this idea. At the end of everything, we are
doing it for the students. We want them to learn so you yourself as a teacher
need to study. We want them to accept you, so you yearn for self-improvement.
You want to broaden their knowledge so you ask for help from others to increase
their perspective in life. When I love, I always devote and offer everything I can
give, and I will not think twice to do the same thing for my students.

I knew from the beginning that I want to teach what I learned because I
have such wonderful mentors who guided. I saw their passion for their craft, their
respect for the stage and how they devote everything into putting a good show. I
told myself I want to do that. I want them to experience my profession the way I
experienced it thru my teachers.
Teaching could not be your first choice and it’s fine but if it is still calling
you keep on trying. Try teaching different levels, in different schools, because it
might not be the profession but the environment or the students are not right for
your way of teaching. I had the chance to teach toddlers, grade school students,
SHS students and College students as well. Jumpstart learners is not quite
favorable for me. I realized that I can teach better if I’m placed with teens and
young adults. They can relate with me and I to them. Try and try until you find the
students for you.
