3/b
AGR CLUTCH SHAFT

REQUIREMENT:

1. Clutch shaft must be positioned so there is equal clearance between the

eccentric bllocks # 1 and side frame.
2. The clincher cam follower must be on the low of cam # 3 when eccentric
blocks # 1 are in home position.
3. Check that micro switches on cam are not activated.

ADJUSTMENT:

1. Position shaft assembly so there is equal clearance between eccentric

blocks # 1 and side frame (check for clearance between 4 and 5).
2. Butt collar # 2 against side frame - tighten set screw.
3. With eccentric block # 1 on operatorts side of machine at 12 o'clock, rotate
clincher cam # 3 so brake # 4 is firmly on flat of cam (View A-A).
Butt cam against non-operator side frame tighten lock screws.

3/1
AGR CLUTCH SPRING

REQUIREMENT:

1. Clutch must be set so it disengages with the clutch shaft in the home
position.
2. Switch on AGR, without motor running, turn flywheel ( to tighten clutch
spring ); check by pushing manual stitch button that clutch is disengaged. If
not, adjust as described below.

ADJUSTMENT:

1. Hold clutch shaft assembly with eccentric block # 1 at 12 o'clock on

operator's side.
2. Loosen set Screws # 8.
3. Position clutch assembly # 6 so the lip on it is + 3 mm ( disengaged )
beyond relesse lever#7.
4. Lock clutch assembly # 6 in place with set Screws # 8.

3/2
AGR PAPER STOP AND EJECTION CAM

REQUIREMENT:

1. Cam must be set on shaft so the paper stops solenoid and the eject roller
solenoid are energized when the stitch heads are on the upstroke.

ADJUSTMENT:

1. With Clutch shaft in home position, loosen set screw # 2 in cam # 1.

2. Rotate cam until cam lobe is approximately 5 mm (1/5") away ,from switch
actuator. In that position, make sure switches are not activated (see point 6).
3. Tighten screw # 2 in cam.
4. Trip clutch relesse solenoid and manually rotate machine.
5. Check that switches # 3 and # 4 are actuated by cam but not bottomed out.
6. If switches adjustment is necessary, loosen mounting screws # 5 and re-
position mounting bracket.

3/3
AGR SIDE JOG COLLARS

REQUIREMENT:

1. Collars must be set for adequate side jog and full return of jogger by return
spring.

ADJUSTMENT:

1. Position cutside collar # 1 18 to 20 mm from the end of side jog shaft

tighten set screw. 2. manually hold side jog solenoid energized and position
Inner collar # 2 40 mm from inside of operator’s side frame.

MAINTENANCE:

Make sure that magnet core is regulary cleaned (remove grease) to prevent
excessive friction which wouid slow down the return of mobile side jogger.

3/4
AGR LOWER EJECTION ROLLERS

REQUIREMENT:

1. Lower rollers must be positioned so they do not rub against the sides of the
cutouts in the guide plates.

ADJUSTMENT:

1. Loosen set screws in lower rollers # 2.

2. Install guide plate # 1 and lock in place with mounting screw.
3. Position rollers for clearance in cutouts.
4. Tighten set screws in roller hubs.

3/5
AGR PAPER STOP CAM

REQUIREMENT:

1. Stop Hold Down Cam must be adjusted to hold paper stops down when
saddle stitching.

ADJUSTMENT:

1. Turn knob so stops # 4 are lowered (figure 1).

2. Loosen screw # 1 in center of cam # 2.
3. Position cam so it is up against stop solenoid Arm # 3 and stops # 4 are
slightly below the brass mounting bracklet. (Fig. 2).
4. Tighten screw # 1.

3/6
AGR UPPER UNIT TO LOWER FRAME ADJUSTMENT

REQUIREMENT:

1. When unlocked, AGR upper unit shouid roll freely on base Unit.

ADJUSTMENT:

1. Loosen screw # 1 inside side frame.

2. Tum eccentric # 2 so roller # 3 is firmly on rail.
3. Check that guide # 4 is not binding to lower rail.
4. Tighten screw # 1 - repest for non-operator's side, if nocessary.

3/7
AGR DRIVE BELT

REQUIREMENT:

1. Drive belt must not slip and must track properly.

ADJUSTMENT:

A. Adjust tension by loosening motor mount screws # 1 and position motor for
maximum flat belt tension.
B. Loosen set screws and position pulley # 2 for proper belt tracking.

3/8
AGR UPPER EJECTION ROLLERS

REQUIREMENT:

1. Ejection roller must travel without any bind and solenoid must be adjusted to
provide enough pressure to properiy eject paper.

ADJUSTMENT:

1. Loosen screws # 1 and position solenoid so linkage # 2 is straight up and

down. tighten screws # 1.
2. Adjust Nut # 3 so there is an 8 mm gap between upper and lower rollers.

3/9
AGR CLINCHER HEIGHT

The purpose of the clincher is to bend the legs of the stitch after they have
penetrated the paper set.

REQUIREMENT:

Clinchers must be set to proper height to close legs of stitches evenly.

ADJUSTMENT:

1. Disengage stitching heads from drive bar.

2. Manually trip clutch and rotate until drive bar is all the way down and
clincher cam follower is on highest position on clincher cam.
3. Loosen lock screws # 1.
4. Insert a 1.6 mm (.063") feeler gauge between clincher driver # 3 and
clincher point holder # 4. With gauges in place, adjust arms # 2 on clincher
sheft so both clinchers are equal and their upper side horizontal.
5. Lock # 2 before re-tightening screws # 1.
6. Stitch 2 sheets and check.
If the sheets are cut, clinchers are adjusted too high.

3/10
AGR CLINCHER MAINTENANCE / ADJUSTMENT.

REQUIREMENT:

To prevent erratic missed stitchings, keep clinchers B clean from paper dust and
pieces of wire.(check requlary points A & B).
Sometimes it will be necessary to remove the clincher ass'y for proper cleaning.

ADJUSTMENT:

1. Remove clinchers ass'y by unscrewing M 5 nuts # 1, from screws # 2.

While uncrewing # 1, it is recommended to hold the screws # 2 ( 2,5 mm
allen key ) because they are secured with loctite 638 in mobile clinchers sup
port # 3.
2. Clean clinchers.
3. Put back clinchers and back stop support Insert locking washers
where illustrated
4. Tigthen nuts (see recommendation P T 1 ) and unscrow 1/2 turn.
