Nation Disaster in Indonesia during Desember 2020

2020 is not an easy year. We've been through a lot this year. Recently we experienced
a disaster due to the covid 19 pandemic. As a result for several months our activities are
limited, and we can not be free to go out of the house and gather with the crowds. Not only
that, in 2020 there are also many other tragedies. One of them is natural disasters that occur
in Indonesia. The territory of the Unitary State of the Republic of Indonesia has geographical,
geological, hydrological and demographic conditions that allow natural disasters, both caused
by natural factors, non-natural factors and human factors and the possibility of disasters is
very difficult to predict by the community.
As the largest archipelago in the world, Indonesia's geographical conditions vary
greatly, located between the four plates of Eurasia, Indo-Australia, the Pacific Ocean and the
Philippines. The four plates move in different directions and speeds and at some point cause
natural disasters. In 2020, natural disasters also occur again in Indonesia, such as floods,
landslides, earthquakes, erupting mountains, and many more. It's all happening and causing
damage everywhere.
Natural disasters that occur have a huge effect on everyone. Moreover, natural
disasters appear in the current pandemic situation. Natural disasters that occur to the
detriment of all parties. For example, flooded houses. It makes it difficult for people to do
activities, and it also causes many outbreaks of disease due to the murky and dirty water.
Another frequent example is hydrometeorological disasters every year. If an area is hit by
flooding, next year will be repeated if there is no intervention from the local government or
the handling of the disaster. The most prominent problem of the situation is the number of
losses suffered from earth disasters such as the fall of victims during the earth disaster, both
fatalities, property and other adverse things.
This year's natural disasters seem endless. The National Disaster Management
Agency (BNPB) recorded 2,256 natural disaster events as of October 14, 2020. If detailed,
the disasters that occurred in 2020 are 12 earthquakes, five volcanic eruptions, 256 forest and
land fires, and 16 drought disasters. Of these, almost 50 percent occurred on the island of
Java, which is as many as 1,208 incidents. He said the whole incident left 307 people dead
and 25 others still missing or have not been found to date. Meanwhile, the number of people
injured by natural disasters is 469 people. Meanwhile, not only did it take its toll, but the
natural disaster also damaged 34,100 people's homes in the affected area, with 7,046 severely
damaged, 5,069 moderately damaged, 21,985 lightly damaged. Public facilities also did not
escape natural disasters, consisting of 641 educational facilities, 672 worship facilities and
131 health facilities damaged. As a result more than 4.5 million people have been displaced.
Natural disaster events dominate is flood disasters, then followed by successive nipple
pickaxes and landslides.
So many misfortunes that occur due to natural disasters. Floods, earthquakes,
landslides, tsunamis and eruptions of Mount Merapi took so many victims. Many
communities are stretching their lives. In addition, this natural disaster also caused a lot of
chaos everywhere. Many important facilities were damaged so that many community
activities were hampered. This condition has the potential to cause conflict in society that can
develop into a national disaster.
