current perceived skill level; I have reviewed my chosen program and what it will take to
successfully complete it. The key items being essential motivation, self-efficacy, and good time
management.
While in school at Thomas Edison State College (now known as Thomas Edison State
University), for my Associate’s and Bachelor’s, I had a lot going on. I started my degree while
deployed to a hostile environment. On top of that, the amount of time I had to honestly focus
on my study was extremely limited by missions, and attacks. As a result, pushing through my
bachelor’s degree turned out to be stressful, tiresome, and more difficult then it needed to be.
Since then, I have eliminated deployments and all the stressors that goes along with them from
my life. I now have three amazing little girls who motivates me and drives me to achieve the
goals I have laid out for myself. As someone who has enjoyed writing from an early age and

then I would do plan to do it on Monday with Tuesday as the first backup and Wednesday as a
third backup. If for some reason I do not manage to get the assignment completed on any of
the three days; I have an outstanding support system that would ensure I focus and get my
coursework done.
Throughout each of the courses in my chosen program, there will be many challenges
that I would have to overcome. No one ever pursuing a masters, especially in English, would be
an easy task. English programs on all levels have very high standards and I will run into issues
with grammatical errors and writing quality. The utilize of SNHU writing lab and tutors has
Through this assignment, I have become more aware of what is needed in order for me
to be successful in this program. I understand how to prepare myself for what lays ahead in my
master’s program. While it will not be the easiest thing, I understand that it does not have to
