installation, and regular system operation and
maintenance. We credit our success to our

accomplished by having a well maintained
fleet of dewatering equipment as well as by
employing well trained field service _

technicians that routinely monitor on-going

projects as a component of our project
responsibilities. We remove the burden of
maintaining and operating the equipment
from our customers. If mechanical problems
persist with a piece of equipment, we will
replace it. We do not act as a rental house.
This approach minimizes and often eliminates
down time on projects where continuous
system operation is critical.
DEWATERING SERVICES
DEEP WELL SERVICES

MERSINO offers a full service deep well dewatering

system. These systems are beneficial for dewatering to
depths at which suction lift limitations prevent the use of
wellpoint pumps. Deep wells also offer the ability to
control large volumes of water. Other features and
advantages of deep wells and the deep well system
when provided by MERSINO include:
 Installation of 20' to 100' deep wells.
 Installation of wells far enough from the
excavation so as to not be obstructive.
 Ability to penetrate strata impervious to the
jetting method of wellpoint systems.
 Under proper soil conditions, deep wells allow _

for drainage of large areas.

WELLPOINT SERVICES

Under certain conditions, a wellpoint system often proves

not only to be an effective means of dewatering, but also
an economical one. Wellpoint systems are particularly
effective in stratified soils or where draw down must be
achieved close to bedrock. Features and advantages of
wellpoint systems include:
 Ground water control near ground surface to a
depth of up to 20'.
 The ability to dewater/stabilize fine to silty soil
conditions.
 More effective dewatering when clay conditions
are present at or near invert.
 GLOBAL wellpoint pumps, featuring our unique
water/air separator system.
 "Hospital quiet" rated silent pack engine units for

residential areas.
 The ability to install dewatering systems where
access with drill rigs is impossible.

TRENCHED TILE DEWATERING

MERSINO is capable of installing tile-dewatering systems

utilizing our deep trencher. Under suitable soil conditions,
the trenched tile dewatering method is very effective and
convenient for our customers as there is no suction
manifold system on top of the ground near the excavation
area. The trenching method also allows for faster
installation as opposed to wellpoint dewatering systems.
Capable of trenching to depths of 20 vertical feet,
MERSINO offers a viable solution for dewatering in
situations that are not conducive to deep wells or
wellpoints, combining full service installation by an
experienced, fully trained field crew with regular on-site
maintenance by MERSINO Field Technicians.
Mechanical failures are addressed by our crews in a
timely fashion keeping down times to a minimum.

SLURRY CUT-OFF WALLS

Prevent the migration of ground water (including

contaminated water) from one side of the wall into the
excluded work area. The deep trencher is capable of
installing slurry cut-off walls in those circumstances
where a high water table is present. The bentonite slurry
is pumped into the trencher shaft and into the excavation.

PERMANENT COLLECTION SYSTEMS

Utilizing a trench box and various boom attachments,

MERSINO can install permanent ground water collection
systems. The trench box and hopper allow for the
installation of pipe with backfill material to meet the
specifications of the customer, without the need for
temporary dewatering.
