CONTEXTUALIZED LESSON PLAN IN MUSIC 2 QUARTER 1

I. OBJECTIVE:
Distinguishes aurally and visually between sound and
silence through the song “ Gindumdum Ko Ikaw” MU2RH-

Distinction Between Sound and Silence

III. Procedure
A. Introduction
 Greet the children with the usual greeting with feelings.
Teacher : Good afternoon children
Teacher: How are you today?

 Present the song/lyrics “Gindumdum Ko Ikaw” written in a chart.


(Let the pupils read it with the teacher)

“GINDUMDUM KO IKAW”
“I REMEMBER YOU”

B. Modelling
 Instruct the pupils to close eyes. Have them listen and feel while
the teacher sing the song “Gindumdum Ko Ikaw”
 After listening the song, ask the pupils the following

Ask:
 What do you feel while you are listening the song?
 When you hear nothing, how do we call it? (Silence)
 Can you imagine someone? Who is it?
 When you are at home children, what will you do if
there is someone sleeping? (keep quite) – (values
integration)
 Discuss to the pupils that even our eyes are closed, we can still
imagine images according to what we hear.
 Tell the pupils to listen to their surroundings.
 What did you hear? (sounds)
 Can you describe the sounds that you hear? (loud and
soft sound)
 Let the pupils listen again to the tune of the song “Gindumdum Ko
Ikaw”

C. Group/Guided Practice
 The teacher will instruct the pupils to follow the actions she will
perform. Then, let the pupils tell if the actions they perform
associates with Sound or Silence.
o Laughing (sound)
o Sleeping (silence)
o Singing (sound)
o Stretching
o Sitting
o Jumping
o Tapping the table
 Let the pupils sing the song “ Gindumdum Ko Ikaw” accompanied
by the music they will hear from the recorded song.
 Let them practice by group

 Let the pupils answer the activity sheet below.
