INTRODUCTION OF THE LESSON:

This weekly module covers the key concepts of generating patterns and sequences which include the arithmetic
sequence. The students will use their prior knowledge and skills to learn and understand the basic ideas of sequences and
distinguish their types. They are also given enough activities to process the knowledge and skills learned and further
deepen and transfer their understanding of the lessons.

LESSON 1: GENERATING PATTERNS AND SEQUENCES

___________________________________________________________________________________________
EXPLORE (Day 1)

Activity 1: IRF Worksheet (Formative)

In this activity, the learners will be able answer the essential question of this lesson on the Initial Column on their
Learning Activity Sheet. This activity serves as their initial answer to elicit their prior knowledge before introducing the
next lesson

Essential Question:
How can patterns and sequences lead someone to make educated guesses?
Initial Answer Revised Answer Final Answer
Write your Answer here!

Activity 2: What’s Next? (Formative)

After doing the previous activity, the learners will work with patterns. Recognizing and extending patterns are important
skills needed for learning concepts related to generating a sequence.
In 3 minutes, Each item below shows a pattern. Answer the given questions.

FIRM-UP

After they answer their previous activities, they are able to read and understand the key concepts about patterns and
sequences, number sequences, finite and infinite sequences, their definition and its illustrative examples

Listening Activity - Access and Process!

To firm up these lessons, the learners will be able to watch the following video presentation about patterns and sequences
by following given links

Activity 3: Revisiting the IRF Worksheet (Formative)

In this activity, the learners will be revisit the IRF Worksheet and answer the essential question of this lesson on the
Revised Colum on their Learning Activity Sheet. This activity serves as their revised answer to elicit their prior
knowledge during lesson and to determine the learning progress of a learner which had already learned during the lesson.

Go back to the IRF Worksheet, In 3 minutes, please answer the essential question of this lesson on the Revised Column.
