The cooling water for the diesel engine as well as the feed water for steam
boilers and separators should be high quality fresh water in order to achieve
smooth operation of the systems. In most factories and plants there is also a
need for huge amounts of good quality fresh water for proper operation of
various processes.
It is a fact that most parts of the world today are suffering from lack of good
quality fresh water. Fortunately, this problem can be overcome by installing a
fresh water generator in the cooling water system for the diesel engine. By
utilising the waste heat from the diesel engine you can easily get high quality
fresh water to a low price.

Fresh water generators utilising waste heat from the HT-cooling water
system are the most economical way to produce large amounts of distilled
water. One-stage fresh water generators can produce as much as 45 m 3/24h
from a 18V32 (i.e. 2500 litres of distilled water per cylinder per 24 operating
hours). Two-stage fresh water generators doubles the quantity. Even more
can be produced with special arrangements or by using steam in addition.
Fresh water generators installed in the HT-cooling water system can, in the
best case, use all waste heat from the HT-cooling water and no additional
cooling of the HT-cooling water system is required – the cooling
tower/radiator can then be operated with reduced capacity.
