EMERGENCY PREPAREDNESS PLAN

KWERDAS AT KANTAHAN
Dates: May 8, 15 and May 20, 2021
Venue: Zoom online
Emergency Plan:

1. In case of emergency inform the community coordinator.


- Develop a plan to assist them during an emergency. Members with special skills
(medical, technical) together with the community coordinator who are willing to
share in the event of an emergency. Consider CPR and first aid training
for community volunteers.

2. Bring Emergency Kit


- Administer immediate first aid to injured or exposed person using the following steps:
a. Move injured personnel only if necessary to prevent their exposure to further
harm.
b. For spills affecting small portions of skin, immediately flush with flowing water
for at least 15 minutes.  If no visible burn exists, wash with warm water and soap,
removing any jewelry to facilitate proper decontamination.
c. For spills on clothes or large areas of skin, quickly initiate showering while
removing all contaminated clothing, shoes and jewelry.  It may be necessary to
cut the clothes off in some instances to prevent contamination of the eyes. 
d. Contaminated clothes should be laundered when possible (at work, separate from
other clothing, or use a contracted laundering service), decontaminated or
discarded. Never take contaminated clothing home.
e. Do not use creams, lotions or salves, except to neutralize the spilled material (e.g.,
calcium gluconate gel for hydrofluoric acid exposure and polyethylene glycol
[PEG 300] for phenol exposure).
f. For splashes into the eyes, immediately irrigate the eyes at an eyewash station for
at least 15 minutes. Hold the eyelids away from the eyeball, moving eye in all
directions to wash thoroughly behind the eyelids.
g. If necessary administer artificial respiration, but only if CPR trained.
- The community coordinator, faculty, and chosen members of the event will plan in
advance and to let all the participants be informed when an accident occurs.
- During the actual emergency, the coordinator will ensure the accuracy and
consistency of all message that will be disseminated.
3. Inform SIMBAHAYAN
- For further emergency alert inform the Simbahayan Office.
