2. What factors influence the company to choose a new location?
3. Dududu Company is a dairy company and has 2 production factories. In California, it
costs $ 170 per day to produce and is able to produce 100 boxes of milk a day with
the latest technology. But in Yogyakarta, production costs only $ 144 per day and can
only produce 80 boxes of milk a day. Based on the data above, which factory has the
best performance?
4. The Blue Company is a well-known company in Indonesia. This company has several
branches in Indonesia, which are able to generate huge profits for its owner, namely
Rangga. It has 4 main branches in Indonesia namely Bandung, Makassar, Bekasi and
Surabaya while the goods storage center is located in Bekasi. Due to the increasing
number of customer demands, the warehouse for storing goods is no longer effective
and efficient in Bekasi. Help Rangga to determine where the warehouse for storing
goods should be located based on the following data:

1. The reason the company needs a new location

• To be able to serve consumers well.
• To get good & sustainable raw materials.
• To get a good workforce.
• For future business needs.
• So that the company's operations can run optimally.

2. What factors are considered for location selection
 Location of consumers or markets
The location of the factory near the consumer area is the reason behind choosing a
location close to consumers is the ease of knowing changes in consumer tastes,
reducing the risk of damage in transportation, if the goods produced are not durable,
transportation costs are expensive, especially for service production.
 Source of material
The placement of the factory adjacent to the raw material area is a basic consideration
taken when the raw materials used experience shrinkage in weight and volume, raw
materials are easily damaged and quality changes, the risk of raw material shortages is
high.
 Source of labor
The alternatives used are whether the labor required is unskilled, with consideration
of low wages, a simple life culture, high mobility so that the amount of wages is
considered an attraction, or whether the labor is skilled, if the company needs better
facilities, the required skills, and easy to find another job.
