Is the internet bad for friendships and relationships?

Almost all people use the internet on a daily. We use social media, chat with friends, do research. But is
the internet bad for talking to other people?

It is hard to deny that there is a lot of advantages to online communicating. You can contact people very
quickly, talk to them while you are anywhere. It is easier to make friends with similar interests. That is why
the internet is so useful.

On the other hand, you can meet a friend online and find out that they were pretending to be someone
else. This can be dangerous. Another disadvantage of communicating online is waiting for the reply,
sometimes this could feel like ages. You don't always have internet connection on your phone, so the
person contacting you does not always reach you.

To sum up, having online friendships is not a bad thing, but you have to trust the people you interact
with. The internet is good to communicate with your friends while you are not together. In my opinion, real
life friendships are better than online friendships.
