Possibilities Theatre Company seeks theatre
artists for their new children's theatre troupe!

Possibilities Theatre Company aims to amplify

voices that have historically been silenced by
giving people a stage on which to tell their
stories authentically. We are a community of
artists who take risks and act with love.

The children's theatre branch of Possibilities

aims to create stories that entertain and
educate kids on important topics that they
might not learn about in school, and re-tell
classic children's stories in a way that is
relevant to modern times.

We're looking for artists who have a passion for

storytelling in any performance form-- acting,
improv, singing, stand-up, ukelele, clown, hula
hooping while eating cheerios-- you name it!
We strongly encourage people of all shapes,
sizes, abilities, races, ethnicities, genders, and
sexualities to audition! For auditions, we ask
you prepare a 1-3 minute performance aimed
at children. This can take on any form you
want-- but we encourage you to make it
original, and address a topic that children might
not hear about as much!

The troupe will be divided up into 5 miniature

ensembles of 4 actors, and 1 playwright. Once
cast, the actors will rehearse with their
ensemble over Zoom and devise a children's
play around an assigned theme-- around 30-35
minutes in length. The playwright will format
the play into a script after a 3-4 week devising
process, and then actors will rehearse the play,
and will tour it out to different summer camps
and birthday parties over the summer.

The entire devising process will be done over

Zoom, as well as the majority of the rehearsal
process, with just a couple outdoor, socially-
distanced, in-person rehearsals prior to the first
booking of the play. We will offer Zoom and in-
person versions of our plays. Any in-person
shows will abide by strict COVID precautions, at
least 15 feet away from masked audience
members-- and will mostly take place outside.
COVID safety is our #1 priority.

Actors will primarily perform their play when it's

booked, but have the option to perform in other
PTC Children's Troupe plays as well. Actors will
be paid per show, and if they drive carpool, will
be reimbursed for gas.

This will be a highly collaborative process, and

we're excited to explore it with you!
