Toddler Time Activities
Thank you so much for purchasing my Toddler Time lesson plans! I am a former
kindergarten teacher and now stay at home with my daughter. I have worked with
children with diverse abilities and needs; therefore, I know the importance of the
learning that takes place at home prior to entering school. When my daughter
turned 18 months old I became inspired to create quick, fun, stimulating activities
based around a weekly theme. These activities provide exposure to variety of
skills, language, and experiences that will help toddlers get ready for school while
enjoying time together at home.

Toddler time activities are geared toward ages 18 months to 3 years old. Each
lesson plan includes a weekly theme, book, and activities that involve fine motor,
math, technology, writing, sensory, music, and fun! I have included a picture for
each day’s activity to help demonstrate. Each activity is merely a suggestion and
can be adapted to meet your child’s needs and also to help utilize tools/materials
available to you. I try my best to create activities out of things already found in
the home. Also, please be aware that every child is at a different level of ability
with different needs so many activities will simply be exposure/exploration. Some
activities will need more guidance and some will be independent depending on the
child. Activities should typically be between 5 and 10 minutes. Also, I leave
materials out each day for toddler to explore rather than tell them what to do and
then offer some guidance/modeling as needed.

Weekly book- I chose a favorite book each week that goes with the weekly theme
but any books will do! Read chosen book a few times throughout week as it connects
to each day’s activity.

Music- I play songs throughout the day on YouTube, Pandora, Spotify, CDs, etc.

Technology- Most activities suggested are from an app for an Android device
(tablet) and some apps from an Apple device (IPAD). Some are free websites.

Writing Letter Journal- Allow child to draw/trace/color on letter as you discuss

letter’s name and sound it makes. (Same idea with name, numbers, and shapes)

*All lessons were created using Microsoft Word and pictures of books were taken by me. ©Nicole Martinez 2018
