Your Main Goal

Improve your care of older patients by learning the


following how to:
Distinguish between disease and aging.
Assess ad interview correctly for dozens of health conditions
associated with elderly patients, ranging from Alzheimer’s
disease, arthritis, and cataracts to osteoporosis, Parkinson’s
disease, and urinary incontinence.
Understand an ever- growing diversity of age-related issues,
including Medicare, assisted living, falls, diabetes management,
and polypharmacy.
Recognize signs of older abuse or neglect and respond
appropriately.
Identify adverse drug reactions that can mimic normal age-
related changes.
Address end-of-life concerns, such as advance directives, DNR
orders, and comfort and support measures for the patient and
family.
