1. What are the advantages and disadvantages of using (a) broad and inclusive definitions
and (b) narrow and exclusive definitions of globalization?
a. Broad and inclusive
 Advantages: Since the opportunity is limitless, it gives everyone an equal and
secured chance to participate. In addition, growth and development of the
nations is insured.
 Disadvantages: There will be a lot of things to organized which include the
social and economic process. The government institutions must also be
organized to avoid failure in focusing on the country’s own people.

b. Narrow and exclusive


 Advantages: Since the focus would be limited to the country alone, it would
be much easier to focus and enhance the development and policies of the
country that emphasizes great importance to people incorporating the
country.
 Disadvantages: Opportunity to form a connection with other country would
be harder, and could result in trade wars.

2. What do you think is the importance of defining globalization?


 It makes things easier politically, economically, and socially. Communication is
made quicker and easier, sharing of information is widespread, and is beneficial
when conducting business internationally. It forms a connection of people across
the world.

3. Do u agree with the idea that the contemporary world is characterized by high liquidity?
Why or why not?
 Yes, especially in terms of communication. Nowadays, people around the world
can communicate with people even with far distances between them. Aside from
communication, in terms of business there is also a high liquidity. Take Shoppee
as an example, some items are only available in other countries, but with
Shoppee, you can disregard the distances and be able to buy the items.

B. What gadgets or devices do you usually use to listen to music?


 I usually used my Cellphone.

C. Where were these gadgets or devices made? Where is the company based?
 My Cellphone is made by Apple Inc, an American multinational
technology company headquartered in Cupertino, California.

D. How did you access these music? Did you purchase them online or listened to then
through You tube, Spotify or other music channels?
 I sometimes used Spotify, but mostly Youtube.

2. Create your generalization and discuss: How would YOU define globalization?
 The progress and development of a country or nation in terms of social,
economic, and political for the benefits of its people.

3. What metaphors are you going to use to improve your own definition of globalization?
 Social Media Platform
 The metaphor I will use is “Social Media Platform”, we are all aware that
it became a medium for the interconnectedness of all things globally. Just
like globalization, according to Swedish journalist Thomas Larsson (2001),
it is a process of world shrinkage, where distances become closer and
connecting with other people has become easier.
