Define determinants of behavior,

Predisposing factors are related to the motivation an individual or a group to act. These determinants
are psychological or cognitive in nature including variables as awareness, knowledge, beliefs and
attitudes and perceive needs and perceived abilities.

Reinforcing factors determine whether the individual or group receives positive or negative feedback
and support.

Enabling factors facilities, the motivation to take action. Including aspects relating to the individual such
as the skills that are needed to carry out behavioral change. And also environmental factors like
availability and affordability.

3. Consider the following steps and design a health promotion program. Diagnose a health
problem and write a health objective; identify the behavioral factors and write behavioral
objective; identify the environmental factors and write environmental objectives ; identify the
behavioral and environmental determinants (predisposing, reinforcing and enabling actors ) and
write intervention objectives

This are the enabling factors we can stimulate or hinder behavioral change like active participation in the
community, effective use of resources, create work environment and exchange information and so on.

Intervention

Objectives relating to the redaction of unimmunized children below 5 years in rural area in practicing
home to home and meeting area health education by health professional, strong policy implementation
to immunize their children, avoid unwanted religious practice and building nearby health facility.
