MARKET STUDY

This chapter describes the size and the scope of market, as well as the service

competitiveness. It also seeks for the growth of the total demand for the service, the

description of the service, suppliers, the different factors affecting the market, and the

appropriate marketing program.

A. Nature of the Business

3D printing or additive manufacturing is a process in which a digital design is turned

into a real project. 3D printing technology uses a 3D printer to create objects by laying

down successive material until the object is produced. It is a general partnership in located

in Batangas City and offers 3D printing services to residents of Batangas City mainly for

students.

To achieve competitiveness of the business, the business will focus to benefit its

customers, to students that need prototype design for research, also for the development of

the products of other businesses. Through 3D printing, you can create anything you can

imagine.

1. Name of the Business

The name of Creat3D Printing Business was derived from the word created, and

changed the last two letters into the kind of service they will offer. The owners of the

business end up naming their business creat3D since they want to promote creations,

making things possible, and to make imaginations come true through 3D printing.
2. Description of Services

Creat3D will be used in prototyping new products, they are offering a wide range of

technologies for 3D printing. They can provide realistic physical parts and aesthetic

materials for certain assemblies. Creat3D printing business offers complete manufacturing

services, from 3D printed plastic parts to 3D scanning and 3D modeling. They are

providing quality 3D printed parts and prototypes from fastest and reliable 3D printing

machines.

To achieve competitiveness, the business will focus on its services and benefits to its

customers, to student researchers and other residents of Batangas City who wants to 3D

print their needed parts or prototypes.

The business includes 3D printing, 3D scanning, and 3D modeling. 3D printing or

additive manufacturing is a process in which a digital design is turned into a real project.

3D scanning is a technology for creating high-precision 3D models of real-world objects,

3D scanner will be used to take multiple snapshots of an object. The shots are then fused

into a 3D model, an exact three-dimensional copy of the object. 3D modeling is the process

of creating a 3D representation of any surface or object by manipulating polygons, edges,

and vertices in simulated 3D space. Furthermore, they print extremely detailed parts

regarding if the customer wants the rough or smoothest surface finish in their 3D printed

parts and 3D print with color or in standard white.

Initially, its market compromises researcher who need to 3D print parts or prototypes.

In this kind of business, financial investments will focus on 3D printing machines and other

equipment, salaries, business registration, and expenses in utilities.

3. Uses of the service

The Creat3D Printing Business offers 3D Printing, 3D modeling, and 3D Scanning. 3D

Printing includes Stereolithography (SLA), Direct Metal Printing, and Color Jet Printing.

3D Modeling includes wireframe, surface and solid. 3D Scanning includes Structured

Light, 3D Scanning Technology, Photogrammetry, and Contact-based 3D Scanning

Technology.

3D printing cannot be done if they can’t provide 3D modeling, while in 3D scanning,

they just need to scan the object and it is done. The establishment's objective is to provide

the best quality of the design and to help the researchers be more time efficient. Also,

Creat3D Printing Business will offer a free tour of the displayed product and free tutorial

if they want to learn new knowledge about 3D printing, 3D Scanning and 3D Modeling.

Mercado Bldg. at Calicanto, Batangas City with the 052-2019002286 TCT number. This

area is a vacant space near Mcdonalds. This location is located along Burgos St. Brgy

Poblacion 12, Batangas City near Waltermart.

B. Analysis of the Market

There are different techniques that they will use in gathering the information that will

support us in our study. By using these techniques, they can easily determine the demand

of our market for the service and to fully understand the needs and wants of our target

market.

The objective market of this study is made out of the residents of Batangas City. There

are 197305 populaces with people 15-54 years’ old who we have been over viewed. These

quantities of respondents were gotten from the chosen number of populaces utilizing

Sloven's formula.

The number of respondents was derived from the total number of 15-54 years old

persons in Batangas City, using the Sloven’s formula which states that:

N
n=
1 + ( N * e2 )

Where:

n= number of needed respondents

N- Number of children who qualify in the area of study

e- margin of error, which is 5%

Solution:

197305
𝑛=
1 + (197305 ∗ 0.052 )

= 399.19

n= 400 respondents
They used random sampling to gather information from the target market. Each

individual was chosen randomly by chance and each member of the population has an equal

chance of being included in the sample as respondents of the study. Surveys and interviews

were conducted from the people of city of Batangas to further determine the demand for

the services of 3D Printing Business by using a specific number of respondents.

They agreed to use questionnaires to have relevant information and gather important

data about the resident’s preferences for the establishment. They made the questionnaire to

get the needed information in order to analyze the current situations.

1. Demand for Creat3D Printing Business

Demand in economics is the consumer's desire and ability to purchase a good or service.

The most common targets of the Creat3D Printing Business are researcher students and

other researchers who are having difficulty in creating or looking for a part of their

prototype. Also, as innovation calls, workers, businessmen and other professionals use 3D

printing for easier way.

In this study, the demand pertains to the projected number of residents with ages 15 to

54 years’ old who possibly may acquire the services of Creat3D Printing Business in

Batangas City once it is established. This is based on the gathered information and

computations made to determine the demand for the business. The proponents conducted

a survey from the residents of Batangas City.
