 Skim the articles about Eleanor Roosevelt from two different encyclopedias. Read the
questions and then skim both articles to find the answers. Work as quickly as you can.

1. Which article tells you more about the personal life of Eleanor Roosevelt?

Answer : The second article told reader more about personal life of Eleanor Roosevelt.
The first article told about Eleanor’s politic life and the second article told reader about
eleanor’s life biography.

2. The author of one of these articles has written a book about Eleanor Roosevelt. Which
one do you think it is?

Answer : The second article’s author Joseph P. Lash has wtiteten a book about Eleanor
Roosevelt entitled “Eleanor and Franklin”.

3. Does Eleanor Roosevelt sound like the typical woman of her time? Why or why not?

Answer : Eleanor Roosevelt not sounds like a typical woman of her time. Because there
is not many women in her time can join in politic. Her childhood to is not like typical
woman because her is become orphanage at age ten, not much women can become one of
member delegation of US in United Nations.

4. What effect did Franklin Roosevelt's illness have on Eleanor's life?

Answer : After Franklin Roosevelt stricken by polio she still try her husband’s interest in
public affairs ad become his political stand-in.
