ABSTRACT

Education is one of the most important ingredients to a

happy, successful, and constructive life. In fact, children

who get full support and motivation from their parents are

likely to have high academic achievement. Hence, this study

explored the existing differences and relationship between

parental involvement and the academic achievement of first

year education students of NIPSC Ajuy Campus for A.Y. 2019-

2020. The respondents were the fifteen (15) 1st year BEEd

students and fifteen (15) 1st year BSEd students who

voluntarily responded to the instrument. Findings of the

study revealed that the parents of first year education

students were highly involved when it comes to their

children’s education and highly participated in the school

activities of their children whenever necessary in general

and regardless of their educational attainment. The first

year education students had very good academic achievements

as well, regardless of the level of educational attainment

of their parents. Finally, the level of involvement the

parents extended to the first year education students

strongly influence their academic achievements. Thus parents

are recommended to maintain their active involvement and

support to the academic endeavors of their children.
