Maintenance

4.5 Checking clutch operation

To guarantee the service life and trouble-free operation

of the synchromesh system, it is absolutely essential
that the clutch disengages without any difficulties. This
is also important for operation of clutch-dependent
PTOs.

Perfect clutch disengagement can be checked as

follows:

• Allow the engine to run at idling speed and depress

clutch;

• After max. 20 sec. *, slowly engage reverse gear.

In the event of any “grating” noise from the

selector teeth (scraping noise from the shift dogs)
during this check, the clutch MUST be reset and/or
checked.
