3. Equipment needed: For this activity you just need to make sure you are in a room

that is clear and open and that has various different items.

4. Activity Description – The object of this activity is to promote physical activity, as

well as cognitive thinking while looking for specific colors. Scavenger hunts give

people the opportunity to explore new surroundings and use critical thinking skills

when looking for items. They are easily adaptable depending on the participants and

are a fun way to discover new things. They also boost observation skills and help

develop early learning skills in a fun, relaxed, and natural way.

● For this activity you are going to look around your surroundings and try to find

various color items.

● The goal of this activity is that you find 6 different items that are each a color of

the rainbow. So you will find 1 red item, 1 orange item, 1 yellow item, 1 green

item, 1 blue item, and 1 purple item.

● It is best to have a timer set for 5 minutes.

● After time is up you can show what items you found and explain how you found

them and how they represent the specific color.

5. Primary social interaction pattern(s) (activity analysis) – The primary social

interactions is extra-individual interaction. This is because it is one individual with

objects working alone.

6. Adaptation: One researched adaptation specific to a disability group assigned for

each of the four (4) uploaded activities:

● A cervical spine injury often involves permanent complete or partial loss of sensory

function, and many associated complications. Injuries of the spinal cord that are

located higher on the spine will be more severe. This type of injury is the most

severe, and can result in paralysis of all limbs, requires assistance with most

daily tasks, and inability to control bladder/bowel movements. For this activity the

participant can be pushed around in his wheelchair and instead of physically

finding the items he could name me something in the room that he sees is red,

then orange, etc.

7. Participant: 21-year-old man with a C 1-8 Spinal Cord Injury
