TITLE: Should the DepEd implement Online Schooling?

Vc

INTRODUCTION:

Due to the threat of the COVID-19, many educational institutions have suspended their
academic activities and classes. Because of the COVID-19 crisis, Higher Educational
Institutions (HEIs) have resorted to online classes or E-Learning Classrooms to deliver the
content of their curriculum in various platforms. There were no empirical studies related to the
E-learning Classroom as an intervention in times of crisis, or studies related to determine the
status of E-Learning Classrooms in HEI’s; however, there are several researches that discuss
E-Learning as an effective tool or strategy in teaching.

BODY:

Online learning is exactly what it sounds like: it takes place over the internet. It is a form
of distance learning. It’s interchangeable with the term e-learning. An LMS typically stores the
training content, which is accessible anywhere and anytime. Online education is a form of
education where students use their home computers through the internet. For many non-
traditional students, among them all those who want to continue working full time or raising
families, online graduations and courses have become popular in the past decade.

COUNTER AGREEMENT:

Traditional learning takes place in a classroom setting. There is a trainer who moderates
and regulates the flow of information and knowledge. Then, the trainer expects the employees
to deepen their knowledge through written exercises at home. Nowadays, technology is
incorporated in the classroom more and more. However, in face-to-face instruction scenarios,
the primary source of information is still the trainer. Traditional education is defined as teacher-
centered delivery of instruction to classes of students who are the receivers of information.
Traditional schools generally stress basic educational practices and expect mastery of academic
learning in the core subjects of math, reading, writing, science and social studies.

YOUR STAND:

Traditional learning was the only efficient learning format. Multiple benefits students
typically gain from traditional campus learning aren’t limited to study only. While on campus,
students get to hone their social skills while interacting with both their teachers and colleagues.
It creates a routine which the students have to follow, and in turn, this will bring punctuality and
discipline. There are also other things that can benefit the students like maintaining
interpersonal skills, access to libraries and extra-curricular activities.
CONCLUSION:

In conclusion, although it’s easy and convenient to use the online education, many students still
have difficulty using it. Their lack of equipment and difficulty accessing internet are one of the problems
that they are facing. Also, most of the students have difficulty understating their lesson because no one
is guiding them or teaching them. Teaching students in a traditional way is more effective than teaching
them online.
