INTRODUCTION

Please read this instruction manual carefully before you use this dehumidifier.

DEWOODS Industrial dehumidifiers are designed to work in the toughest conditions. It is

commonly used for larger spaces like warehouses, to generate the highest level of drying at
the shortest period of time.

The MDH-CD-140 is a Ceiling Ducted type refrigerant dehumidifier designed for installation
and use where the distribution of air by ceiling sweep and peripheral air pattern is required
and preferred. The MDH-CD-140 is also installed together with HVAC systems such as a
FCU ducted air conditioners and direct Fresh Air ventilation systems.

The MDH-CD-140 removes water vapor from the air aggressively, which in turn elevates the
drying of materials by movement of air thereby inducing evaporation of moisture from
molecules to water vapor.

In warehouses or factories where machineries, products or high racking hinder the effective
airflow distribution of floor standing dehumidifiers, ceiling mounted dehumidifiers overcome
this issue. When installed as part of the fresh air ventilation into the building, the MDH-CD-
100 removes moisture from outside-air more efficiently and effectively than air conditioners
and at a lower electrical cost.

Relative Humidity is a measure of how much moisture is in the air. It is the ratio that
indicates the ability of the air to absorb more moisture, expressed in percentage (%RH). For
more information, see also specific/ absolute humidity.

The lower the percentage in RH, the lower the moisture contents in the air and the greater the
air's ability to absorb more moisture. When the air reaches 100% RH, it reaches its saturation
point and the water vapor turns to liquid, forming droplets of condensation

The DEWOODS MDH-CD-140 is designed with a microprocessor humidity controller which

is easy to operate with its simple control. This dehumidifier works normally within the
ambient temperature of less than 35°C and relative humidity from 20% to 95% RH.

Always unplug the unit before cleaning and inspect connections for damages.

5. Do not use in the following locations or similar conditions:

• Do not operate in standing water
• Do not operate in rain or water is likely to splash motor
• Do not operate next to a source of heat
• Do not obstruct air Inlet or Outlet

5. Do not spray water on the dehumidifier. Keep all electrical components in dry
condition. If electrical components are wet, ensure unit is inspected by a qualified
electrician before operating.

6. Always store the unit upright in order to maintain the compressor in proper working
condition. Leave the unit upright for at least 30 minutes before operating.

7. Remove filter and clean with vacuum cleaner or wash with mild detergent. Do NOT
wash with hot water or in washing machine or dish washer. Do NOT dry under direct
sunlight.

9. Always ensure complete purging of water before moving the dehumidifier

10. The unit is fitted with an auto defrosting operation and starts when the evaporator
generates frost. The function ensures continuous running when the temperature is
between 5˚C and 35˚C. The moisture removal rate may vary depending on
temperature and moisture load in the airstream.

OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS

Setting Up and Installation

1. While every unit of DEWOODS Dehumidifier has been tested in factory and Pre-
Delivery Tested again by AAQ, transportation and handling may result in various level of
damages. It is imperative that Installer/ Owner inspect the packaging and unit body prior
to installation. Report all damages if goods is received not in its original condition.

2. The dehumidifier should be installed with consideration for service and maintenance.
Sufficient space should be allowed for servicemen/ technicians to access with safety
considerations.

3. The dehumidifier should not be installed in an area where the temperature is lower than
the process air’s dew point to prevent condensation.

4. It is recommended that all duct connections meet ISO7807 guidelines to ensure maximum
airflow volume and to reduce loss of static pressure.

5. Ducting should be insulated to prevent internal condensation and to reduce any vibration
and sound.

6. Condensate drain pipe (U-trap) with sufficient head should be fitted to prevent leakages.
A secondary drain pan should be placed under the dehumidifier for safety reasons.

7. When installed together with an Air Conditioning system (FCU), duct the Process/ Dry
Air to the Supply Air Duct. Use together with a non-return air damper.

8. Return air should be independent of air conditioning unit’s return air duct but if diverting
from main return duct, consider the air conditioner’s fan pressure which could upset the
flow rate.

9. Check to ensure there is no debris or any loose components inside the compartment that
may damage the fan motor.

6
CONTROL/ DISPLAY PANEL

*Controller design may be

upgraded without prior
notice and functions differ

1. The MDH-CD-140 Ceiling Ducted Dehumidifier is operated by a wall mount Digital

Display Controller.

2. Press “ON/OFF” button to start and to shut down the dehumidifier. The screen lights up
when any key is depressed and back light is off after 3 minutes. Controller will display
current room temperature and humidity level. % RH.

3. The Startup Delay protects the dehumidifier by initiating 3 minutes delay upon startup.

4. The Shutdown Delay protects the dehumidifier by continued running of the fan for 1-3
minutes after the dehumidifier is cut off or turned off.

5. The SPEED/ Fan Selection function allows user to set High or Low speed fan.
