HISTORICAL BACKGROUND

Barangay Pimbalayan is located eight (8) kilometers from Lambayong proper and mostly

riceland. The place is traversed by people coming from nearby Sultan sa Barongis of

Maguindanao province and SK Pendatun trading their products most especially dalag, taruk and

other fresh water fishes which is abundant in this neighboring places. This is the very reason why

Pimbalayan is the only barangay in Lambayong with a regular market day, the fact that it is also

geographically situated along a 60 meter national highway.

Back in 1967, the people conceived of putting up a barangay high school thinking of their

children’s brighter future by attaining high school diploma. It was then realized under the

administration of the late Mr. Jaranilla with four (4) teaching staff. Thus, Pimbalayan Barangay

High School has come to exist.

Years later, lawless elements thrived the nearby vicinities ans caused unrest among

residents. In 1973, harassments escalates and fire fighting has become common. The classrooms

become the hiding places of the figthing groups and the school ws the subject of attack causing

its building to collapsed leaving it to ground zero. Folks evacuated and Pimbalayan was declared

no man’s land at that time.

Five (5) years later, the condition become better and though quit enterventions so

residents resettled and begun farming again and lived a normal life. As its populace increased,

the clamor to restablish the school reached the office of DepEd, Division of Sultan Kudarat at

Tacurong City. Superintendent Sabandiya A. Balabagan, Ph. D. approved the request and

reopened the school in 1999 as adopted by Lambayong National High School at Poblacion,

Lambayong and was named Pimbalayan National High School Annex. The good superintendent
sliced a portion of a hectare from the elementary school’s three (3) hectares. The bayanihan spirit

was captured. Parents and local offices donated trunk of trees to be lumbered for makeshift

classrooms and chairs as a start.

The enrollees started at 63 from freshmen and sophomores. By SY 2001 – 2002 the first

graduates were produced with two (2) concrete classrooms and another two (2) makeshift

classrooms out of kalakat walls and nipa roofing.

By SY 2003 – 2004 enrolment has raised to 194, SY 2008 – 2009 registered 209 and five

(5) years later in SY 2014 – 2015, its population was 384. Superintendent Raphael C.

Fonatanilla, Ph. D.,CESO V saw the potential of the strategic location of the PimNaHS and

installed Mr. Salvador F. Movilla to be the principal of the school on May 2015. By the 2019-

2020 enrollment reached the record high with 788 learners registered in the Learner Information

System with 15 classrooms, air conditioned computer rooms with 92 functioned computers, one

TVL Agriculture Workshop Building, six overheard projectors, agricultural tools and

equipments, a three-storey laboratory building and 19 dedicated teachers and one ADAS II as

support staff. These logistics makes a brighter PimNaHS and the best is still to come.
