Q1. Plot the culture of Netflix (based on the slides)

Netflix as an organization lies in the first quadrant (open systems


model). We believe this is so because of the high degree of flexibility 
and freedom to its employees. They focus heavily on the market and
prioritize employee reward systems and encourage creativity and self
discipline. As the company grows, they have minimized rules and given
more priority to flexibility over efficiency.

THE CULTURE AT NETFLIX

Clan culture : Netflix scores high on Clan culture because they value
teamwork, loyalty and mutual trust within groups. 

Adhocracy culture: Netflix gives high importance to innovation and high


performance. They give a lot of importance to quality employees.
Employees are given challenging roles to increase their creativity and
innovative abilities and are pushed to extend boundaries of
performance. This is perhaps what stands out the most in the Netflix
culture.

Market culture is at a moderate level and Hierarchical culture is very low


since tey don't have rules or strict regulations being followed. They
value freedom over formal rules and policies.

Q2. Plot the culture of shared organization 

The culture of Ambuja is such that it taps individual initiative for team
synergy. Ambuja follows an ‘I CAN ‘ culture. It thrives on cross-
functional leadership and its strength lies in PEOPLE POWER. 

Clan Culture: Ambuja scores high on the clan culture as theres a lot of
significance  provided to employee wellbeing or PEOPLE POWER. It
ensures that individual initiatives are tapped and high quality training is
provided to the employees to propagate an I CAN culture

Adhocracy culture: Ambuja scores high on the adhocracy culture too as


there is enough autonomy for the employees and their quality is
ensured through intensive training. 

Market culture: Ambuja scores medium on the market culture as it is in


the growth stage with profits increasing by 79.9 % compared to the
previous quarter.

Hierarchy culture: This scores low in Ambuja Cement as employees are


made to share equal responsibility for converting it from a commodity to
a brand. All the processes and functions are streamlined to enabling
cross functional leadership , moulding new gen leaders, mentors and
coaches. 

Q3. How many of the values of NETFLIX is applicable for a shared


organisation

The values of Netflix that are applicable for Ambuja include:

Loyalty and mutual trust


Ambuja’s succession planning also aims to develop the
employee’s knowledge, skills and abilities, so that they deliver
results and act as role models. Netflix also values high
performance.
Both the organizations are highly aligned, infact Ambuja cements
also focuses on aligning individual requirements with
organisation’s requirements

Q4. How will you improve the culture of the shared organisation 

Taking a note from Netflix’s culture, an environment of more freedom


and responsibility can be provided to Ambuja’s employees
Netflix also gives a lot of importance to its employees which Ambuja can
imbibe as well
