Girrawah Scouts Activity/Meeting Planning Sheet:

Activity name: Clean Up Australia Day 7th March

Activity outline: Scouts will practice knot and campcraft skills building camp gadgets and
structures in preparation for Cotter Shield. Would be good if night could be used to test out some
design ideas for Cotter Shield gateway design.

8:00 – 8:10 Opening /waiting for scouts to arrive

8:10-8:20 Safety Briefing/plan for day Jerry

Split into groups. (depending on leaders)

8:20-8:25

Head to location 1- Gungahlin Oval (back near hungry jacks) All Groups

8:25 – 9am

Groups pick up litter into Bags ( brought from home)

9 – 9:45am Head to location 2- Gungahlin Library/Carpark All Groups

Head to Location 3 - Park in between coles complex and big-w

9:45 – 10:15am

Return to hall and close, dispose of rubbish
10:30pm

Equipment: Plastic/Garbage bags brought by scouts.

 Safety briefing - What to pick up/what NOT to pick up (sharps, bio-materials)
 Hygiene/Hand sanitiser brought along the way
