The benefits of performing muslim prayers (salah)

Prayer (salah) is one of the five pillars of Islam. It is an obligatory act upon all mature
Muslims, and highly recommended for children who are seven years old and over. Beside it
as the way to communicate with Allah, its movements also have benefits for health. The
benefits if we always perform salah are as follow:
Takbiratul Ihram
This is a position when you raise your hands up to your ears and say Allahu Akbar and
place your right hand over your left hand. You can Place your hands on your navel, on your
chest, or between the two. All of these movements have benefit to smooth the bloodstream
and strengthen the arm muscle.
Ruku’ (bend down)
This is a movement that you bend your body so that your back and head should be in a 90
degree angle with your legs. This position is the situation that heart in parallel with head so
the blood flows to all of the body.
I’tidal
This is the position that you raise from ruku’ by rising up your arms beside you. This
movement is good for digestion.
Sujud (prostrate)
This is a position when you Place your head, knees and hands on the floor. This situation
make blood with full of oxygen flowing to head. Therefore, it increases human’s memory in
remembering something.
Sit on your knees
This position is when you rise from Sujud and sit on your knees. This position avoids
muslims from pain in their haunch.
Salam
This is a position when you turn your head to the right and left and say As-salamu alaykum
wa Rahmatullahi wa Barakaatuhu before you end the prayers. This movement relaxes the
neck muscles, avoids from headaches and tightens the facial skin.
