Why this course is right for you
Why this course is right for you
The study of maths is extraordinarily important as it’s integral to a huge variety of fields and industries. Maths allows us
to program computers, build aeroplanes, predict the weather, understand physics and more.

A good grade in A Level Maths is also a common entry requirement for universities, particularly in STEM subjects,
economics and medicine.

This 100% online course will develop your knowledge into advanced areas of pure maths including algebra,
trigonometry, geometry and calculus. In your study of Mechanics, you’ll delve into the maths used in physics to study
mathematical modelling, kinematics, forces and Newton’s laws, while in Statistics, you’ll learn to use technology to
process and interpret data.

You’ll be fully supported in getting the A Level you need without having to sacrifice your job, family time or social
commitments - your study can be completely shaped around your life.

The course advisors that I spoke to were really helpful and explained everything that I would need to know, taking
their time and making me feel really valued.
I was wary that distance learning wouldn’t be for me as I’d never had to learn anything outside of a classroom set
up. However, the materials are really easy to follow and the forums really help. My tutor has been really great too,
responding quickly to every query I’ve sent, with a full in-depth explanation of everything I’ve needed to know.
I’m thinking about taking up another A Level with ICS Learn once I’ve completed this one!

I found learning online more relaxing than going to a college. There was no travel, no students who can

About your exams
This AQA A Level Mathematics (7357) course will be assessed through three written exam papers in the annual May/June exam
session. The exams are set nationally by AQA, so you can’t take them at any other time.
Unlike previous A Level Maths qualifications, all exam papers must be sat in the same exam session at the end of the course, and
credit from exam papers sat in previous sessions (including AS exams) can’t be carried forward.

Preparing for your exams

Before you sit your exams, you’ll submit test papers to your tutor. They won’t count towards your final grade - they’re just there

What you’ll need
Supporting textbooks are not provided with this course. However, we strongly recommend that you source the following
textbooks as there are references to these within the course:

 A Level Mathematics for AQA Student Book 1 (AS/Year 1)

by Stephen Ward and Paul Fannon (Cambridge University
Press, June 2017) ISBN-13: 9781316644225

 A Level Mathematics for AQA Student Book 2 (Year 2) by

Stephen Ward and Paul Fannon (Cambridge University
Press, November 2017) ISBN-13: 9781316644256

You’ll need a calculator for all your exam papers and for use throughout your studies. The minimum requirement is an advanced
scientific calculator, such as the Casio fx-991EX ClassWiz calculator.
If you’d like to buy a more powerful graphics calculator, the one we recommend is the Casio fx-CG50. However, this model
represents a significant investment and, while it’s allowed in the exams, it’s not necessary for completion of the course and you
won’t be disadvantaged without it.
You’ll also require a computer with a suitable spreadsheet package (such as Excel) to allow you to work with the large data set
provided by AQA to support your study of Statistics.
