    Step 3 Add the tens.

    Hundreds Tens Ones

    5 tens + 5 tens = 10 tens


    Regroup 10 tens as 1 hundred and 0 tens.

    Step 4 Add the hundreds.


    1 hundred + 1 hundred + 1 hundred = 3 hundreds
    So, 148 + 153 = 301.
