Scientific Knowledge is the common heritage of Mankind (Dr Abdus Salam).
I read this quote in my 9 th
grade’s biology book by PTB. Since then, there has been a kind of urge and an inclination towards scientific research. I have been a self-motivated student always. Rising from difficult situations, still performing well. During my schooling, I was always interested in the physical meanings of the equations along with the practical applications that was being taught to us. After that, I worked hard and was able to get admission in the Government College University, Lahore during the session 2013-2015. During that session, I opted for the F.Sc (pre-med). Didn’t make it to a Meds School but opted “Chemistry” as a major subject keeping in mind the perspective of the research. I got admission in BS (Hons) Chem during the session 2016-2020. My major was Physical Chemistry and my research was on “nanotechnology”. The topic was “Nanocomposites Derived from Bimetallic Coordination Polymers as Electrocatalysts for Oxygen Evolution Reaction”. Unfortunately, due to the pandemic we were asked to write a review article. So, basically the main purpose was usage of coordination polymers for the sustainable and renewable energies and studying the OER (oxygen evolution reaction) and HER (hydrogen evolution reaction) along with special focus on electrocatalytic characterization involving Tafel slope and over potential. Keeping in mind the future perspectives, these were really enchanting applications for my topic. Further, pursuing for my career, I find LUMS real perfect. The faculty, the atmosphere and instruments-all are up-to-date. With special emphasis, I am mentioning names of Dr Muhammad Sabieh Anwar, Dr Arshad Ahmad and Dr Irshad Hussain. They have been pioneers for creating the innovation in mainstream education and always bringing timely changes in the teaching methodologies, research and grooming students to be well prepared for practical life. I have been contact with my seniors studying here. I also visited the campus. I find LUMS up to the mark.
