VERB BINGO

1) Match the Present Simple verbs with their Past Simple forms.

2) Speak together in pairs:

B] I write a letter every day.

A] Talk – Past Simple.

B] I talked to Ibrahim on the telephone yesterday.

3) VERB BINGO - THE AIM OF THIS GAME IS TICK THE VERBS YOU HEAR. A
STUDENT READS OUT THE WORDS IN THE PRESENT SIMPLE BOX. The other students
choose EITHER ONE ROW (Going across →): A1, A2, A3, A4 or ONE COLUMN (Going
down ↓): A1, B1, C1, D1, E1 in the BLUE BOX. They listen and tick each VERB in their
row or column as they hear it.

One student reads out aloud a verb from the PRESENT SIMPLE BOX. For example, he or
she says ‘ride’, the student who chose column A1 ticks the box C1: ‘rode’ because it’s the
PAST SIMPLE OF ‘ride’. The student reads out another verb from the Present Simple box:
‘buy’, the student who chose A2) ticks ‘bought’. When a student has ticked all the boxes in
his or her row or column, he says: ‘BINGO!’ and reads out all the verbs he’s ticked. Then,
the game begins again; this time, the student who said: ‘BINGO’ reads out the words in
the PRESENT SIMPLE BOX.
