I come from Northern Italy. A typical dish from my region is seafood

risotto. The main ingredient is rice. It’s also got fish in it. My favourite
type of seafood is 1  , so my mum always adds it to the dish. It’s
really delicious. Another food I love is cacciatora. It’s got tomatoes, garlic
and meat like chicken in it. We eat it with vegetables or spaghetti. In the
winter, my mum makes a delicious tiramisu – it’s 2 Italian dessert.
It’s got cream, coffee and cake in it. In the summer, I like to eat fruit for

The Famous Five 1 Timmy

The Famous Five is a series of popular mystery and adventure stories
2
for children. The stories are about a group of four children and a dog.

E
In the group are two brothers, Julian and Dick, their younger sister, 3

N
Anne, and their cousin Georgina. Julian is the oldest. He’s also the

IO
biggest and the strongest, and he’s sometimes quite bossy. Georgina

N
doesn’t want to be a girl, so she cuts her hair short and changes her

O
name to George. George’s dog, Timmy, is the fifth member of the

R
group and plays an important part in their adventures.

B
ZA
The first story was called Five on a Treasure Island. In the story, Julian,
Dick and Anne went to stay with their cousin George in the school

IE
holidays. George lived with her parents in the seaside village of Kirrin.

N
George’s mother owned a small island in the sea called Kirrin Island. 4

A
The first mystery happened here. When the children were sailing to

W
5
the island, they saw a shipwreck in the sea near the island. So they

O
decided to explore!

PI
Enid Blyton wrote this first story in 1942. She wanted to write six

or eight books about the group of children. But the books were so bossy – apodyktyczny
popular that she wrote a story about the Famous Five every year for play a part – odgrywać rolę
