CLIMATE CHANGE

is a long-term change in the average weather

patterns that have come to
define Earth's local, regional and global climates.

CAUSES
Natural and Antropogenic
Natural causes includes changes in
volcanic activity, solar output and the
Earth's orbit around the sound.
Human activities have been the main
cause of climate change. The increase in
the emission of green house gases by
burning fossil fuels and biomass,
agricultural practices, farming livestock,
deforestation etc.

IMPACTS
Since 1906, the average global surface
temperature has increased by more than 0.9
degrees Celsius.
Rise in sea levels is caused by the melting of
glaciers and sea ice because of the heat.
The rising temperatures are affecting wildlife
and their habitats.
There is also an increase in rain and snowfall
across the globe but some regions are
experiencing severe drought, increasing the risk
of wildfires, lost crops, and shortages in
drinking water

PEOPLE'S
MITIGATION
Solutions
Climate change mitigation consists of actions to
limit the rate of global warming and its related
effects by reducing or preventing the emission of
greenhouse gases. This can be achieved by:
replacing non-renewable resources with
renewable resources, recycle and reduce waste,
reforestation and forest preservation.

RECENT DATA
Since 1906, the average global surface
temperature has increased by more than
0.9 degrees Celsius.
