Pure Substances Student

Mixtures vs. Pure Substances

Instructions
Break into groups of two or three. Using what you know about mixtures and pure
substances, look back at your answers from the beginning of the lesson. Then categorize
each matter example as either a mixture or a pure substance.
 If you choose a mixture, designate it as either homogenous or heterogeneous.
 If you choose homogenous, designate it as a solution.
 If you choose heterogeneous, designate it as either a colloid or a suspension.
 If you think the matter is a pure substance, decide whether it is a compound or an
element.
