Vinyl Flooring in Bangladesh

Sheet vinyl flooring is vinyl flooring that comes in giant, continuous, versatile sheets. A
vinyl sheet floor is totally tight to water, in contrast to vinyl floor tile, that comes in stiff
tiles, and vinyl planks, that are available in interlocking strips. Vinyl flooring is
extensively used as a result of it's water-impervious, fairly sturdy, adjustably resilient
and insulating, straightforward to put in, obtainable with a spread of appearances, and
cheap.

Ceramic Mosaic Tiles

Ceramic mosaic tiles-small, modular units of natural clay or porcelain-are

widely used for flooring. The natural clay type is unglazed, with muted
earth colors; the porcelains can have bright colors and are viterous
(glasslike, dense and impervious).
Quarry Tiles and Pavers

Quarry tiles and pavers are larger modular flooring materials. Quarry tiles are unglazed
units of heat- hardened clay. Larger-sized ceramic tiles are available in a range of patterns,
some of which mimic natural stone or wood and are practically impervious to moisture, dirt
and stains.
Stone Tile Flooring

Stone tile flooring materials provide a solid, permanent and highly durable floor
surface. Types of stone commonly used for flooring include:
• Slate: Reddish browns, grays, greens, blues and blacks. Available in square or
irregular shapes, can be formal or informal.
• Marble: White, pinks, greens, browns, shaded and striped. Lends itself to high
polish and formal elegance.
• Granite: Over 200 colors. Polishes well, also honed and thermal finishes.

Installation of Tiles

The installations are either thinset or thickset. Thinset installation uses

adhesive to attach the tile. Thickset installation is used over floors subject to
bending and deflection. The tile is set on a layer of mortar that helps prevent
cracking. Tile or stone is set in grout. Grout is available in a variety of colors and
can be selected to blend or contrast with the flooring material.
Terrazzo consists of chips of marble, granite, quartz, glass, shell or
other suitable materials. It uses either a cement or epoxy matrix as the
binder.
Resilient flooring is defined as the floors made up of materials like PVC, rubber, linoleum etc. Different types of resilient flooring used in
building construction is discussed. Resilient flooring system is denser and non-absorbent in nature. They assure a pliant surface which makes
comfortable walking. The material that binds the mixture together is either asphalt (asphaltum) or resin. There are six main types of resilient
flooring: linoleum, asphalt, vinyl (composition and solid), rubber, wood and cork. Roll flooring comes in the form of large sheets of material.

Benefits
Fans of solid hardwood and natural stone flooring often forget that
resilient flooring provides distinct advantages, such as:
• Durable: Some linoleum installed over a century ago is still
wearing strong.
• Flexible: Resilient flooring bridges slight bumps and gaps.
• Inexpensive: One type of resilient flooring, vinyl, is consistently
the cheapest floor covering you can buy.

Problems
Ceramics crack, solid hardwood swells when wet, and laminates de-
laminate. Every type of flooring has its own unique set of problems.
Resilient flooring, too, for all of its benefits, does have a few
downsides.
• Indentation: Small pressure points, such as table legs or
appliance feet, can permanently indent resilient flooring.
• Inconsistent Value: Resilient flooring is all over the map when it
comes to perceived buyer value. Even within the sub-category of
vinyl, you can install high-quality, premium luxury vinyl
brands such as Mannington, Shaw, or Karndean or low-quality
(but cheap) vinyl squares that may peel away long before they
wear down.
