    - First argues that there is no place for translated literature within the system of Literature as a
    whole.
    - They are selected depending on the home co-systems and they take a life on their own in
    relations with the other home co systems
    - Has it’s own set of rules and etc and might even be exclusive to it.
    - It’s not studied in the peripheral boundaries of literature
    - Actively shapes the literary polysystem
    - Translations relate to the major movements, no distinction between original and translated and
    it’s the well known writers who produce the translations
    - New features are introduced into the home literature that wasn’t there before
    - The texts are chosen according how well they’ll assimilate themselves into the home country in
    which the translation is placed
    - Gives examples on how this is possible
    - There is a hierarchy of literatures
    - Weak literature needs imports
    - If it’s in a strong lit, it becomes a form of conservatism
    - Mentions of paradox
    - Because it stays the same in one country, the country where it belonged continued to change
    thus becoming a preservation of the old
    - Sometimes both positions can take the field of central and peripheral
    - Culture can affect this outcome too
