X-Smart goes WiFi


Wi-Fi Module
• Wireless “Substitute” for USB cable
• Benefits:
– Comfortable connection with Netbook/Laptop
– No need for dedicated computer
• saves dedicated PC + monitor/keyboard arm
– “Future Ready” for control with Tablet or smart phone

WiFi module in X-Smart


1. Switch off the power to your X-Smart
2. Unscrew the can sensor panel that
gives access to the MDU
3. Insert the WiFi module into the slot
in the MDU
1. make sure you have the module oriented as
shown
2. muke sure it is fully pushed in and does not
stick out of the MDU.
4. Switch on the X-Smart
5. Verify that the blue LED starts blinking
6. Screw back the can sensor panel

PC Network configuration
1. Click on the Wireless network icon in your
task bar
2. Wait for an Xsmart_XXXXX Access point to
appear
1. The WiFi connection has no password*
2. Connecting to an X-Smart will disconnect you
from other access points (and thus internet)
3. Select the network, tick the connect
automatically option and press connect
4. wait for your computer to become
connected to the X-Smart

PrismaPro/IDD settings
1. Make sure you have PrismaPro 2.6 (=IDD version 2.7) or
higher (released aug 2013)
2. Unplug the USB cable
3. Start PrismaPro
4. A dialog will appear…
– select “Retry on WiFi/TCP-IP”
– leave the network number
at 192.168.111.1 (default)
5. Press Continue;
the machine will reset itself

Appendix X-Smart WiFi


security
• Current WiFi module firmware does not support
security in Access point mode
• Yes, everyone can connect to the WiFi module,
However:
– once the dispenser PC is connected, others can NOT connect
– When “strangers” connect, they can still not dispense or
sabaotage the machine
(IFC protocol is practically impossible to use without inside
knowledge)

Appendix:
Internet
Advanced Configuration: WLAN

• X-Smart WiFi module needs to be configured


with SSID name +password of existing WLAN
• Existing WLAN router needs to assign static IP
adress to X-Smart.
• IP adress of X-Smart needs to be set in
PrismaPro/IDD settings window.
• PC with PrismaPro/IDD needs to be in same LAN
(connected via WiFi or cable)

Advanced WiFi Configuration


• Connect to X-Smart (via USB cable)
• Start FFM Maintenance
• Open Terminal window
• Connect to Micromonitor
(1<enter>2<enter>3<enter>)
• Show wifi
• change WifiFparameters with pa
