LIVE MUSEUM

This exhibit and competition is open to Grade 12 SHS students of FEU Cavite as part of their performance task
in Contemporary Arts and Understanding Culture, Society, and Politics and Media and Information Literacy.
The goal of this competition is to (1) promote the rich culture of the different ethnicities in the Philippines and
(2) raise higher aesthetic awareness among SHS students.
1. All sections of Grade 12 will be participants for this contest. One ethnic group or locale will be
assigned for each section.
2. All sections of Grade 11 will be the assessors for the contest. This would be part of their Introduction
to Philosophy class in terms of critiquing the works of G12 based on the set of criteria and given
worksheet.
3. Each Grade 12 section will have to decorate their classroom to highlight the unique characteristics of
the ethnic group assigned to them. They will also display the following features of the region or
province as part of the exhibit/museum:
• Local Arts, History, and/or Culture (Maximum 2-minute presentation)
• Natural or man-made landmark (3D model, maximum of 4 feet)
• Delicacies (students are not allowed to display cooked delicacies for their museum, only
packed goods can be distributed to the visitors as giveaway).
4. Students will choose to highlight selected cultural practices and traditions, and literary piece (at least
three) in their assigned ethnic group and explain its essence and background.
5. Students from BED, and HED are all invited to view the Live Museum exhibits.
6. Selected Judges will grade the Live Museum exhibit. (they will be guided by the given schedule and
rubrics).
7. Each assessor and selected teachers will be given 1 star (3 pts), 1 heart (2 pts), and 1 like sign (1 pt).
These will be used to determine the recipient of the People’s Choice Award. It would not bear any
additional points for the performance task grade nor in the written works.
8. Winners for the Live Museum will be decided based on following criteria:
• Ethnic Group Representation (40%): The section that most accurately represents the
ethnic group assigned to them gets the highest mark in this category.
• Cleanliness (30%): The section that most efficiently maintains cleanliness before, during,
and after the exhibit gets the highest mark in this category.
• Creativity (30%): The section that most displays ingenuity and novelty in featuring ethnic
group for the exhibit takes the highest mark in this category.
