Activity Time Description

Unit Goals ● Scholars have been

working on a month
long unit learning
about the impact that
Black musicians have
had on music of the
past and music today.
Their assignment was
to choose an
influential artist and
research their
background and
history, their impact
on the music industry
and include videos
and sound clips.

Presentations 30 minutes ● Scholars present their

research projects to
the class. Each
presentation is 3-5
minutes long and if
there is extra time,
scholars may answer
questions from their
peers about their artist
of choice.

Peer Evaluation 10 minutes ● Scholars choose an

artist/presentation to
reflect on. On a
Google Form, they
write a few key facts
that they learned from
the presentation.
