Similiarities

1. There is a step family concept


2. There is an inquitiy in internal family
3. The girls wanted to be a wife from a kingdom
4. There is a support from the extras (The fairy or Godmother)
5. It has a competition about a matchmaking from a kingdom to its people ( The King to his
people)
6. The Shoes is a requirement to be a wife of the kingdom

Diffrences
1. ENG : narrator tells the story to the reader (find the suitable terms)
INA : another character tells the story (find the suitable terms)
2. ENG : The step sisters force to fit the slippers (and they failed)
INA : The step sisters just cut their toe and heel to fit the shoes (Very degenerate story xP)
3. ENG : Its a happy ending
INA : Its the opposite (if you like something gore, why not?)

ENG : it tells about a struggle about the protagonist (Cinderella) who had been treated badly
from her stepmother and her stepsisters . She wanted to marry the King’s son by join the
party at the night but, they forbidded her to have a party and put cinderella on the house.
Cinderella cried and whised to join the party. The godmother helped her with her magic and
told her at a midnight the spell is expired. She was ready to go and have a nice dance to king
and she runaway from the king and left her slipper. The king decided to find the slipper
owner and found her to wear the slipper. It was fit and the King married her. Happily ever
after
INA : It tells about the girl who being treated inequity from his step father and his society
about her sister (Sindelarat). Sindelarat was a dayum nice girl even she wear a low quality of
her clothes. Her mother wanted to make her two daughters married the King’s son except
for Sindelarat. Sindelarat used a godmother to make her appearance beatiful. She deserved
to dance with the King’s son. When the shoes of the Sindelarat left behind in the King’s
palace, the king wanted to find the shoes owner. He found the house (Sindelarat house). The
stepsisters cut the toe and her heel to make it fit in the shoes based on her mother order.
When these girls with unperfect feet tried to wear the shoes, the king felt disgust until the
raven stab the girls with the beak and make their eyes blind. Only sindelarat fit the shoes
and King’s son had a married with sindelarat. The stipsisters who got a bad luck make her
mother died and they went to the palace to meet her sister. She got another stab from the
raven and finally they moved away to another city with blind eyes and several flesh wound.
They heard that Sindelarat died because she gave a birth to the 16th infant with a disgusting
story (her legs full of fat and narrowing of blood vessels) .

INA : it has a transformation about the girl that change from the beatiful girl into a gore and
horror girl.

The beatiful appearance modifies the bloody and gore appearance
The good vibes (atmosphere) modifes the gore and horror vibes

Interpreting

The both stories emphasize the transformation of the girls appearence into a beatiful girl
and the gore disgusting girl. Some inequity is invoving the story. The name of Indonesia story
(Sindelarat) derrives from the origin of Cinderella. It is a fussion words between Cinderella
and larat. Larat means poor or bad luck.
