ABSTRACT THE INFLUENCE OF SELF CARE APPLICATION TO HEALING SCABIES IN

ADOLESCENTS IN SANTRI ADOLESCENTS IN PONDOK PESANTREN WALI BAROKAH KEDIRI

Indonesia is vulnerable to the threat of tropical diseases. One of the skin diseases that often
attacks Indonesian people is scabies caused by infestation and sensation of mites of
Sarcoptes scabiei animal variants to humans and vice versa. The purpose of this study is to
determine the effect of the application of Self Care to the healing of scabies wounds in
adolescent students at the Board of Trustees Barokah Kediri City. In this study the
researchers used the design of this study was one group pre-test pre-test post-test design.
The population in this study were all students of adolescents suffering from scabies totaling
66 students of santri. Samples were 57 respondents. By using a simple random sampling
technique. Data collection techniques in this study by giving questionnaires and observation
of wound conditions. Analysis of data using the Wilcoxon Signed Rank Test with a
significance level α = 0.05. The results of research on scabies wound healing before the
application of self care is known that the majority of respondents with a bad category as
many as 31 respondents (54%) of a total of 57 respondents. The results of research on
scabies wound healing after the application of self care for adolescent students who
experienced scabies were known that the majority of respondents with scabies wound
category improved by 30 respondents (52%) from a total of 57 respondents. The results of
the Wilcoxon Signed Rank Test of 0,000 which is lower than the alpha of 0.05, it can be
concluded that H0 is rejected and H1 is accepted so that means there is an effect of the
application of Self Care to scabies wound healing in Adolescent Santri The provision of
education and application of self-care to students of youth in the Board of Trustees of the
City of Kediri Barok brought a fairly good progress that is to improve the healing of scabies
wounds and the understanding of young students of santri on the importance of clean and
healthy living behavior. This has an impact on the activities of adolescent students when
participating in learning activities and recites more focus and concentration. Keywords:
