number of patients seen by an NHS dentist up to 30 June 2019.

This publication includes information about patients seen and NHS dental activity broken down to
dental practice level.

Children seen by an NHS dentist

7.0m children were seen by an NHS dentist in the 12 months up to
30 June 2019

Courses of treatment delivered

39.7m courses of treatment were delivered in 2018-19. An
increase of 1.28 per cent than in the previous year.

Dentists
24,545 dentists performed NHS activity during 2018-19, an
increase of 237 on the previous year

Adult clinical treatments

46.0 per cent of adult clinical treatments were for Scale and
Polish in 2018-19

Childrens clinical treatments

52.3 per cent of clinical treatments for children were for Fluoride
Varnish Treatment in 2018-19
