• Moday’s roster moves leave the Mariners with 48 players in their Major League camp: 34
roster players, 13 non-roster invitees and 1 player on the 60-day IL.
J.P.: JUST PATIENT...the Mariners increased their Cactus League lead to 99 walks as a
team this spring, with the Grapefruit League’s Atlanta Braves totaling the next-most with
97...J.P. Crawford’s 11 walks are the most in the Major Leagues through March 22.
SPEEDY SAM...the Mariners also lead all 30 Major League clubs with their 23 stolen
bases as a team this spring...Sam Haggerty’s 6 stolen bases pace all baserunners in
both the Cactus and Grapefruit Leagues coming into play Tuesday...Seattle has had 10
different players record a stolen base this spring.
FIVE IN THE FIFTH...Seattle’s offense exploded in the 5th inning yesterday, scoring 5
runs on 5 extra-base hits...Luis Torrens and Dylan Moore started the inning with back-
to-back doubles...Evan White, José Marmolejos and Mitch Haniger all homered, giving
the Mariners 3 home runs in the span of 4 at-bats off defending NL Cy Young winner
Trevor Bauer...it was the first back-to-back home runs for the Mariners since March 6 this
spring in a 6-3 win vs. Kansas City...in that game, Moore and Ty France went back-to-
back to lead off the game...Seattle notched 4 extra-base hits in that opening frame.
VS. ARIZONA...today marks the 50th all-time spring matchup between the Mariners and
Diamondbacks...Seattle is 19-26-4 in the all-time series...the clubs last met 8 days ago at
Peoria Stadium in a 6-2 DBacks win...in the previous matchup on Feb. 28, 2020 in a 6-2
Seattle win, Kyle Lewis homered, Yusei Kikuchi got the win and the Mariners recorded
3 stolen bases.
