1. Discuss the nature and importance of sociological imagination.

Sociological Imagination helps us understand our world much better and helps us see
what’s happening within ourselves. It makes us connect between personal matters like
challenges and enormous social issues. It enables us to look at our life and our own personal
issues and we can relate them to other people, history, or societal structures. The importance
of sociological is to open our eyes on everything.
2. Enumerate the characteristics of sociological perspective. Then explain each of the
characteristics.

A. Seeing the general in the particular.

It is the behavior of every individuals in society and how they act differently in various of
people.

B. Seeing the strange in the familiar.

The society guides our thoughts and deeds. Human behavior is not just simply a matter
of what people decide to do.

C. Human behavior is not as individualistic as we think, but rather social


forces affect human behavior.

The study of suicide showed that some categories of people were more likely that
others to choose to take their own lives.

D. Sociological perspective has a global perspective, the study of the larger world and our
society’s place in it.

It is all about the global awareness, seeing the world as global village, is logical extension
of the sociological perspective.

3. If you were a sociologist or a social researcher, what characteristics or patterns of behavior


should you possess?

Being sociologist or a social researcher plays a big role within our society. Strong critical
thinking skills, curiosity and interest in society, interpersonal intelligence, intrapersonal
intelligence and strong analytical skills are the characteristics that I should be having if I’m a
sociologist. Sociology is the study of human society. These five characteristics are important as
society always exist and forever be changing.
