What grammatical mistakes do Spanish students usually make with this

structure?

“NEVER” is a negative adverb therefore it cannot be used in negative sentences.

Negative adverbs leave lots of room for little mistakes. The most common error is
using double negative.

In English, we cannot use double negatives and so we can never use “never” with
the word “not.”

The following sentence is incorrect, because it has a double negative.

WRONG: The weather isn’t never sunny.

CORRECT: The weather is never sunny.

Since the adverb "never" has a negative meaning, it only refers to things that have
not happened. To refer to things that have happened, we use the adverb "ever":

WRONG: It's the best film that I have never seen.

CORRECT: It's the best film that I have ever seen.
