Art by Allison Kunath ”This is what it feels like ”

Original art work.
“This is what it feels like” is a painting by artist Allsion Kunath. The painting was made

with water colors on Archival paper. The painting is fairly big and is 14x21 inches. When I look

at the picture I see balance. There are lines that asymmetrical and some that are symmetrical.

Most of the shapes are triangle, squares, and circles. The colors that were used were very

minimal and not too harsh on the eyes. Colors that were used were various types of blue, white,

tan, black, and yellow. What I think the artist is trying to say is that there is freedom in letting go.

There is a woman floating above water with yellow beams coming out of her chest. The painting

makes me feel calm. There is a sense of stillness and quietness. I feel the feeling of letting go and

being completely free.. The artists use of colors bring me calmness and the use of yellow

beaming through the woman’s chest make me feel like she is finally free and happy. I do like this

artwork. I like the simplicity and the use of lines in the painting. The colors were well balanced

and everything seemed to flow evenly. I would not change a thing about the artwork because I

feel like everything the artist did was deliberate and executed nicely. What I learned about this
artwork was that the artist is inspired by connection. She also finds inspiration in the people

around her and her relationships. Her art brings very unique and different feelings with the

simplicity and meaning behind the images.
