INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS

Samsung Max Front Wind Shield (Baffle) Part Numbers: WBMF-9/12/18 & WBMF-24/36

CONTENTS INCLUDED (WBMF-9/12/18): 2 side panels, 1 top or outer panel, 6 sheet metal screws,
6 washers, 6 spacers, 8 female & 8 male fasteners and 1 tube thread locker.

8 washers, 8 spacers, 8 female & 8 male fasteners and 1 tube thread locker.

GENERAL: The WBMF-9/12/18 wind shield is sized so it will fit onto Samsung Max outdoor mini splits 9,000, 12,000 &
18,000 models, the WBMF-24/36 is sized so it will fit onto the 24,000 & 36,000. They are made to be placed on the fan
discharge side of the unit. See Fig. 1 below. One Wind Shield will be used for 9,000 to 24,000 BTU outdoor units while
36,000 BTU outdoor unit requires two shields.
*Note: Only a front shield is required for applications for which the mini split is adjacent to any structure that protects the
intake side from prevailing wind. Applications without this protection, such as roof tops, would require a back shield.
INSTALLATION PROCEDURES:
Remove all the protective film on the clear parts
The pre drilled holes (on baffle) will serve as a template to drill pilot holes on the Mini splits.
BEFORE DRILLING OR SCREWING INTO THE UNIT, MAKE SURE THERE WILL BE NO CONTACT WITH
REFRIGERANT TUBING OR ELECTRICAL WIRES. CHECK FOR CLEARANCE.

Note: Pre assemble all parts and turn or rotate the assembled part upside down and then add 1 drop
of thread locker to the female nut. Wipe away any excess thread locker before turning over.
Caution: Use only mild soap or detergent and water to clean baffle. Do not use any chemicals
