G30S/PKI
G30S PKI is a dark historical event for Indonesia which is commemorated every 30 September. This
event has also been made into a film, this film was produced in 1984, which was directed and written by
Arifin C Noer, with producer G Dwipayana. The film G30S / PKI itself tells of a coup incident around
September 30, 1965 by Colonel Untung, Commander of the Cakrabirawa Battalion. This film is set in the
background of events, coup plans, and the kidnapping of the generals. In the G30S / PKI incident, 7
generals were killed, one of which was Brigadier General Donald Isaac Pandjaitan.

September 30, 1965, a group of soldiers surrounded a house on Jalan Hasanuddin 53, Kebayoran Baru,
South Jakarta. They surrounded them with rifles. The owner of the house, an army officer who at that
time was in a room on the second floor, looked normal. Dressed in full military uniform, Brigadier
General Donald Isaac Pandjaitan looked into a mirror in a large wardrobe. Several times he tidied up his
uniform so it didn't look wrinkled. The army has started to enter and control the first floor of the house.
Shots were fired. Several household items were subjected to gunfire. DI Pandjaitan's wife and child who
are also on the 2nd floor are getting more and more scared.

Pandjaitan then descended to the 1st floor which was controlled by the soldiers with slow steps. The
army troops who surrounded Pandjaitan's house were said to have come from the Cakrabirawa unit, the
special forces guarding President Soekarno. When he was in front of the soldiers, Pandjaitan was asked
to immediately get into the truck that would take him to the Palace. They said that the one-star general
was summoned by President Soekarno because of an emergency. Before that Pandjaitan took the time
to pray which made the soldiers even more angry.

Then the assistant Minister / Commander of the Army IV was shot. DI Pandjaitan died. Pandjaitan's body
was then put in a truck and taken away. Blood from the man who was born in Balige, North Sumatra was
splattered on the porch of the house. The shooting was witnessed by her eldest daughter, Catherine.
After the army had left, he went to the place where his father was shot. Catherine held her father's
blood with great emotion and wiped it over her face.

It is known that this movement claimed the lives of seven generals. After this incident, September 30
was commemorated as the September 30th Movement Memorial Day. The following day, October 1,
was designated as Pancasila Miracle Day. During the Soeharto era, usually a film about the incident was
also shown on all television stations in Indonesia every year on 30 September.
